In early Estes years, Lord Dunraven started to amass landholdings in the valley to create a large private hunting preserve. Rancher/lawyer MacGregor thwarted this effort to consolidate and the town of Estes reflects this today. Small owner-run businesses and great diversity charactertize our community.
