Fall is rut time for Estes Park's elk herds. At this fun "Elktober" event we celebrate elk, known as "Wapiti" by the Native Americans. At the 19th Annual Elk Fest you can see elk and learn about elk. Native American storytellers & dancers entertain. The festival is free although there are fees for the elk bugling contest.
Kickstart the festival with the Rut Run 5K beginning in Bond Park at 9 am. After the run enjoy the festival which features bugling contests, educational areas, exhibits, the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, elk seminars, a Mountain Man Rendezvous, Native American music, dancing and storytelling, a childrens' area with elk-themed activities, and a craft beer garden.
Located in Bond Park and the surrounding area. 10 am. Vendors, entertainment, and fun!
