Couples that PLAY together, STAY together!

Get outdoors and play together with Rocky Mountain National Park as your backdrop!

Winter brings deep snows to Rocky Mountain National Park on the west side of the continental divide, but on the east side (where Estes Park is) the snowfall is often much lighter making lower elevation trails available for hiking year round. Visit this page for a list of our Top 10 Winter Hikes.

If there is heavier snowfall, taking cross country skis or snowshoes into the park are fun activities to try together – and both are pretty beginner friendly! Sprague Lake and Bear Lake areas in Rocky Mountain National Park are the easiest & most popular winter trails for both cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Many of the local lodges will offer to let you borrow their equipment for free, so be sure to ask at the front desk. If you want to rent equipment, check out Estes Park Mountain Shop.
