Enos Mills Cabin Museum
Original Homestead Cabin and Museum
Located south of Estes Park along Colorado’s scenic Highway 7, is the original 1885 log homestead of Enos A. Mills. Built when Mills was just 15 years old, the cabin itself is a one‐room rustic log structure chinked with concrete, representative of early mountain homesteads. This simple cabin, is preserved as a small museum, offers visitors an intimate look at Mills’s life as a writer, mountaineer, and passionate advocate for the creation of Rocky Mountain National Park. Exhibits include photographs, letters, personal artifacts, and interpretive displays.
A short nature trail leads up to the cabin, providing views of the surrounding forest and nearby peaks, including Longs Peak, which Mills famously climbed more than 300 times.
