Celebrate 4th of July in Estes Park!

Estes Park, CO is the perfect place to celebrate the 4th with your family and friends!

4th of July Fireworks – Where to Watch

Estes Park puts on one of the best 4th of July celebrations in Colorado. The fireworks display is one of the longest shows in the state, and watching the reflections over Lake Estes is nothing short of spectacular!

You will want to spread a blanket or bring some lawn chairs to Lake Estes to stake your prime viewing spot. There is a 4 mile loop trail around the lake with premium views of the colorful pyrotechnic celebration. The show starts between 9:00 and 9:30 pm.

A hike with a view of the fireworks

If you’re adventurous and want to get a bird’s eye view of the fireworks, you might consider hiking up to Kruger Rock. Kruger Rock looks out over the town of Estes Park and Lake Estes. Because of this, it’s a great spot to take in the celebration without the crowds. And the trail is dog-friendly if you want to bring Fido along.

The trailhead is located in Hermit Park, a short drive from Estes Park out Highway 36. There is about 1,000 ft of elevation gain on this 4 mile out-and-back hike, so being in good shape and acclimated to the altitude is a pre-requisite. Remember to take a headlamp and don’t go alone!

Concerts

Big Bang Concert

From 5:30 – 10:00 pm at the Estes Park Events Complex. The Long Run – Colorado’s favorite Eagles tribute band – will play classic Eagles hits. The covered, outdoor, open-air grand stand seating is also a great spot to view the fireworks over Lake Estes! There is free parking and plenty of yummy food, beer and wine. You can get your tickets here.

Estes Park Village Band

A free concert by the Estes Park Village Band is a fun 4th of July local tradition! The Estes Park Village Band is a community band made up of local musicians. They’ll play at 7:00 pm in Performance Park downtown, including all of your favorite patriotic songs!
