Timed Entry Permit for Rocky Mountain National Park – 2024
There are a few key changes to the Timed Entry Permits in 2024
Rocky Mountain National Park continues implement new ways to make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here are the important changes to know about before your visit to RMNP in 2024:
- For most areas of RMNP, timed entry permits will be in place through October 14, 2024
- Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road permits will be in place through October 20, 2024
- 40% of available timed entry permits are released on Recreation.gov the night before a chosen arrival date. These timed entry permits will be available each day beginning at 7 p.m. MDT (this starts on May 23, 2024).
Here is the release schedule for the additional 60% of timed entry permits available on a first come, first served basis:

The 3 things every visitor to RMNP will need to have
From May 24 – October, 2024 you can’t enter the park without:
- A Timed Entry Reservation (two types are available – Timed Entry or Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road – details in graphic below
- Park Pass or Entrance Fee – available in person or online at go.nps.gov/rockyfees
- Arrive on time during your reservation slot – have your reservation ready to scan
