Estes Park Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Christmas Tree Lighting    Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony

Come join in on Estes Park's traditional annual tree lighting ceremony on November 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Riverside Plaza (intersection of Rockwell Street and Riverside Drive).  This is a free event that brings the whole Estes Park community out to enjoy one-of-a-kind family activities:  Snowman toss, reindeer ornament crafts, radio flyer wagon rides, candy cane hunt, getting pictures taken inside a life-sized snowglobe, and holiday caroling.  Everyone can enjoy a hot chocolate and s'mores, and the kids will love getting an early visit from Santa Claus!

At 5:30 p.m. sharp, as the sun is setting, join the mayor and Estes Park officials as the switch is flipped, the tree is lighted and thousands of lights throughout the village start sparkling to mark the beginning of the holiday season!

This can be a time to think of others and support those in need - Estes Park Helping Hands committee will be selling 2015 collector holiday ornaments supporting local families in need, and Blue Santa donations will be accepted (non-perishable food, gifts and hygiene products) for those disabled and elderly community members that need a little extra holiday help.

Restaurant of the Month - Moon Kats Tea Shoppe

After a nice hike in Rocky Mountain National Park, head on over to Moon Kats Tea Shoppe for lunch or an afternoon tea.  Made from scratch deliciousness awaits you!

Moon Kats Sugar and Tea

They make their own Chai Tea mixture, which you can get spicy or sweet.  We combined the Chai tea with a Kroissant sandwich.  Perfectly sized - not too big, not too small...

We ordered their "Kup of soup and tea sandwich of the day" - Potato soup (the best we've ever had) combined with a mini-Kroissant which fit the bill perfectly.

You can also get made from scratch pastries and take home loose leaf tea or several different high quality teas.  AND if you like cats, this is the perfect place to find Kat-themed gift items.
